Great Baddow’s Tony Appleton Announces Birth of Royal Baby

The Duchess of Cambridge has given birth to a girl, Kensington Palace has announced. Tony Appleton announced the birth outside St Mary’s Hospital this morning.

The royal baby was born at 8.34 am and weighs 8lbs 3oz (3.7kg). Both Catherine and her newborn daughter are “doing well”.

The birth was in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital, which is where Prince George was born in July 2013.

A Kensington Palace statement said: “The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
