
The Baddow Camera Club is for anybody interested in photographs and photography. There are around 35 active members from a range of backgrounds, with a mix of hobby and professional photographers.
There is a busy calender with many talks, demonstrations, competitions and practical evenings throughout the year, as well as weekend and summer evening trips out.
Meetings are at the Reading Rooms (green hut on Bell Street) every Tuesday at 8pm from September until June. Visitors are welcome and can try 3 sessions for free before being asked to become a member. Arrive by 7.45pm to get settled for a prompt start.
The club run several competitions throughout the year including:
- Digital Photographer of the Year (POTY) – 9 POTY rounds on different topics. Members submit 2 photo each month and these are professional judged and scored.
- Wildlife print competition
- Portrait print competition
- Landscape print competition
- Monochrome print competition
- Three-panel print competition
Lots of friendly advice is offered with all areas of photography and printing, and members with smartphones are welcome to join in.
The club also run several fun competitions where photos are judge by members. The end of the year often sees a social gathering, usually a summer barbecue.
