New Den for Polar

Great Baddow’s award winning graphic design company is moving to new offices in the village. Here’s a message from it’s founder, Lee Sturgess:

3 years ago, Polar was started at a bedroom desk, with nothing more than an Apple Mac and a small budget. From there, Polar snowballed, and after three months, the agency moved to its first office.

Now Polar has the bubble wrap and packing tape out again. Having continued our rapid growth, and with two new interns set to join the team, we’re in need of a bigger den.

Our old office served us well, and we made lots of great memories (and designs!) there. But from 15th May we’re excited to be taking over the basement level of The Baddow Brewery. This Grade II listed building is home to several businesses, and will give us space to flex our creative muscles and think even bigger than before.

Having undertaken a number of internships as a student, our founder and director, Lee Sturgess, is especially keen to welcome new interns, and we are looking forward to the new energy and ideas they will bring. Our new office space comes complete with our own meeting room, which will provide a great space for us to learn and grow as a team.

We’re also gaining new state of the art equipment which will allow us to offer an ever better service to our clients. As well as the most up to date software, our new Apple Macs will enable us to provide live art working sessions where clients can watch us design in real-time.

Our location may be changing, but our values remain the same. It has always been important that we go beyond simple design and development, and instead take the time to understand our clients, their history and, most importantly, their aspirations. Only once we have this understanding can we truly produce something that represents and benefits their organisation.Lee EDA winner

It has been an exciting time for Polar. Last year Lee was awarded the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award at the South Essex Business Awards, and Polar took gold at the Essex Digital Awards (sponsored by Baddow’s SEO company) in the Marketing and Creative category. In February, we launched our fresh new website and introduced our newly evolved visual identity.

We can’t wait to unpack our moving boxes, set up our new equipment, and have our first client meeting in our new space. We see it as the start of the next chapter in our history.

If you’re walking past The Baddow Brewery, feel free to drop in and say hi.

Our new address is Polar Creative, 47 Church St, Great Baddow, Chelmsford CM2 7JA.
