The 2013 Centenary Award has been awarded by the Parish Council to Barbara Locker. The Parish Council chose Barbara Locker in recognition of her work, over eight years, for the URC Lunch Club.

Barbara and her team of volunteers, has been organising the community care lunches for 36 elderly local
residents in the United Reformed Church once a week for eight years. This involves organising the volunteers, menus, transport and cooking the meals. An addition six people will soon be receiving lunches, taking the weekly number up to 42.

At the Community Celebration, where she was given the award, Barbara paid tribute to her many

helpers, without whom the meals would not be possible.

Also, volunteers involved in Great Baddow organisations and their guests were entertained to an old time musical presented by the Baddow Hall W.I.
