It seems that plans are afoot once again for Marrable House. There is a Special Planning Meeting on Wednesday 3rd September 2014 at the Parish Hall to discuss the plans to demolish Marrable House into residential flats.
The planning permission forms were submitted by Weston Homes on 21st July 2014.
The meeting is to discuss the planning applications 14/01232/FUL and 14/01315/EIASO, the proposed demolition of the existing building (Marrable House) and redevelopment by the erection of 57 residential flats.
The New Flats
The planning permission under review is for 13 one bedroom flats and 44 two bedroom flats.
The plans include ancillary facilities, parking, bicycle storage and landscaping,

Marrable House was once voted as the ugliest building in Essex. It has mostly been empty for as long as I can remember (I recall seeing To Let signs in the windows when I was still at primary school, over 30 years ago).
It really is an eyesore, and although there will of course be some disruption during the work and some more cars requiring parking spaces, it will be good to see the back of it! It was five years ago that we last heard of plans to renovate it.
